Lochinvar Golf Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Houston, Texas. This Private Equity Men's club on Farrell road is just a few miles from George Bush Intercontinental airport.
Lochinvar Golf course first opened for play in 1980. This par-72 course was designed by Jack Nicklaus.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 7023 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 6498 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-5 that plays to 551 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 2, a par-3 that plays to 172 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 3, a 409 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 10, a 396 yard par-4.
Whether you play from the 7,023 yard championship tees or the 6,500 yard regular tees, your game will be constantly tested by the 58 strategically placed bunkers as well as water coming into play on eight holes. The slightly sloped greens are fast, and the fairways are defined by a standard cut of rough. The wind is frequently a factor on this course, so selecting the proper club is important.
The course gets its name from Sir Walter Scott's poem "Young Lochinvar" which was published in 1808. One of the Club's founding member's was a Scottsman, hence the name.

Absolutely a top notch golfing experience. Private club with only 350 members. Men only. Three tee boxes. Tee boxes and fairways in great condition. Bent grass greens in the top three I have ever played. Tee times NOT required of members. Good (but not great) range. Caddies available. Clubhouse very nice, food excellent (along with the service). Can not say enough good things about this track. Find a member and get an invite!
